Brad Plion, a nutritionist, has written a book by the name Eat Stop Eat for losing weight at a pretty quick rate. Pilon has suggested methods which are different from many of the usual programs for losing weight that you might have heard of before. Most of these programs concentrate on calories and foods like carb and fat. Removing them, as they say, is the only way to go about losing weight.
Many people have difficulty in following these programs, not only because they are complicated but require easting foods that you may not like. No one also likes suggestions for preparing complicated meals and frequent eating every day. Pilon's book does not contain any of these elements.
What he has advocated as his diet program is a system consisting of flexible fasting intermittently and training for strength. There is no suggestion of special meals. Depending on your schedule for the week the fasting day can be chosen.
There is wrong thinking that because of the slowing down of metabolism due to fasting; the weight loss program will be counterproductive. This is true in the case of fasting, long term.
Pilon's program of fasting is short term. It is only for a day in a week, not many days at once. The fasting has been found to be effective in weight loss.
You can be rest assured that there is no slow down in metabolism fasting for short periods. In fact fasting and exercise have been found to be beneficial in losing weight. When fasting is on, drinking plenty of water, black coffee and other drinks with low calories are suggested to be taken.
Strength training is another aspect in the program of Brad Pilon. Properly following this program is very important. The portion regarding exercise is also of great importance. Fasting every week but not exercising will not be of much use in weight reducing program.
